November 5 - An extensive book fair with information on classes, book recommendations and books from festival authors. All-day wristbands are $15 in advance ($18 at entrance) and include admission to the Portland Art Museum and $5 credt at the book fair.  Ages 17 and under are always free at the Portland Art Museum.

Veterans Day Parade Nature/Outdoor NE 40th and NE Tillamook, Portland

November 11 - 9:30am.  Parade assembles on NE 40th and NE Tillamook and proceeds along NE 40th turning East onto NE Sandy Blvd. The parade concludes at 48th and Sandy Blvd at the flag pole in front of Ross Hollywood Chapel.

Turkey Trot Nature/Outdoor 1151 NE Grant St., Hillsboro

November 22, 4-6pm - Race for a Thanksgiving turkey! This FREE fun run is open to boys and girls through the 8th grade. Winners in each category take home a turkey. 2nd and 3rd places are awarded prizes too. Pre-registration is not necessary. This is a rain or shine event.

Christmas Fantasy Trail Nature/Outdoor 19754 S Ridge Rd., Oregon City

Take a Christmas walk through a lighted, wooded "Fantasy Trail," decorated with thousands of lights for your enchantment.  Adults $6, Children $5.

Join Santa Claus and his elves for a magical ride behind Portland’s famous steam locomotives. Vintage rail cars transport you through wilderness in the heart of the city. November 25-December 30 5-9:30pm - The Grotto’s Christmas Festival of Lights is the largest Christmas choral festival in the world.  The festival features nearly 160 indoor holiday concerts performed by many of the region’s finest school, church and civic choirs. Five indoor concerts per evening in the chapel. Entertainment in the plaza area includes outdoor caroling, puppet shows and a live animal petting zoo.  Adults $11, Children $6.

Every Wednesday in November, 5-6pm - Tallulah’s Daddy plays fun, energetic, interactive music for kids and families. The emphasis is on fun, but you and the kids just might learn something too. Tallulah’s Daddy brings a variety of instruments to play, including acoustic guitar, bass guitar, percussion, sometimes even his super-cool keyboard. He also brings his big bag of shakers so the audience can be in the band too.  You can expect an eclectic mix of original compositions, traditional tunes, and fun cover songs in a variety of styles.
